24 V LiFePO4 Battery Packs (25.6 V)
24 V is where LiFePO4 leaves the leisure market and starts doing real work — inverter banks, wheelchair and scooter drives, and light industrial machines that need a sustained 100 A or more.
Where 24 V sits in the range
The 24 V pack is a straight doubling of the 12 V platform: eight cells in series, one 8S BMS, same cell family. What changes is the current per unit of power. At 24 V you need half the current to move the same watts, which halves the I²R loss in the busbar and the heat inside the enclosure.
That makes 24 V the practical choice when a 12 V pack would need a BMS rating above roughly 200 A.
Sizing for continuous and peak current
Most 24 V applications fail on peak current, not on capacity. A mobility drive can pull three to five times its continuous rating for two or three seconds on a gradient, and a BMS that trips on that peak leaves the user stranded.
When you specify a pack, give us three numbers rather than one:
| Parameter | What we need |
|---|---|
| Continuous current | The sustained draw over a duty cycle, in amps |
| Peak current and duration | e.g. 300 A for 5 s at motor start |
| Duty cycle | Continuous, intermittent, or a described pattern |
From those we select the cell, the busbar cross-section, the BMS rating and the pre-charge arrangement. A pack rated 150 A continuous is normally built with a 200 A BMS so the peak has headroom.
Configurations we build most
Standard group sizes cover most retrofit work: the common 24 V ABS case with an M8 terminal block, and a steel case for machine mounting. For OEM work the enclosure is usually drawn to fit the space the customer already has, with the connectors positioned to suit the existing harness.
Charging is either a matched 29.2 V LiFePO4 charger supplied with the pack, or integration with the customer's existing charger once we have confirmed its absorption and float settings.
