OEM / ODM Manufacturing

Most of our export volume is not a catalogue model. It is a standard platform modified to a buyer's load, voltage and market — sold under the buyer's own brand. This page explains exactly what can be changed and how the project runs.

What we customize

Every line on this site starts from a proven platform. What varies between customers is which of the following dimensions they move:

Dimension What can be specified
Capacity and power 500VA – 600kVA, single-phase or three-phase
Output voltage 100 / 110 / 120 / 127 / 220 / 230 / 240V
Input range Narrow or wide window, generator-compatible variants
Battery Built-in or external LiFePO4, VRLA, or a mixed configuration
Runtime From a few minutes to several hours, sized to your load profile
Form factor Rack (1U–6U), tower, floor cabinet, wall-mount
Communication SNMP, Modbus RTU/TCP, dry contacts, RS-232/485, cloud monitoring card
Enclosure and branding Colour, silk-screen, logo placement, model naming, private label
Documentation User manual, datasheet and packaging artwork in your language

If a requirement is not on this list, ask anyway — an unlisted configuration is usually a confirmation question rather than a new development programme.

Ordering process

  1. Requirement review — you send the load profile, required runtime, input and output voltage, target market and target volume.
  2. Configuration proposal — our engineers nominate the platform, battery and options, and flag anything that cannot be met as specified.
  3. Quotation with lead time — factory-direct pricing, sample cost and production schedule in one document.
  4. Sample or prototype — a unit for evaluation before volume commitment, with the sample lead time confirmed in the quotation.
  5. Production with QC reports — scheduled production, 100% production-line testing, test records available.
  6. Delivery and after-sales — export documentation, warranty terms and technical support through our Hong Kong office.

Engineering support

The reason OEM/ODM works here rather than through a trading intermediary is that the people answering your questions are the people who build the product.

  • More than 50 R&D engineers on site, 80% holding a bachelor's degree or above, 10% holding senior technical titles.
  • Free basic sizing — send a load list and get a recommended configuration before any commercial discussion.
  • Drawings and datasheets for your market — dimension drawings, terminal layouts and translated manuals on request.
  • Failure analysis — if a unit behaves unexpectedly in the field, we work the problem with you rather than pointing at the shipping company.

Tooling, volume and lead time

There are two kinds of change, and they cost very differently:

  • Configuration changes (capacity, voltage, battery, protocols, branding, packaging) — these use existing tooling and production lines. This is where most OEM/ODM projects sit.
  • Mechanical changes (new enclosure, new front panel, new mounting) — these require new tooling, which is charged once and belongs to the buyer if the buyer pays for it.

Production lead time is typically 15–30 days depending on the degree of customization and the order quantity; sample units are available for evaluation projects. Lithium battery shipments include the UN38.3 test report, MSDS and sea-transport report that freight forwarders require — see shipping documents.

Start with a load list and a target market through the contact form. You will get a configuration and a factory-direct quotation, not a catalogue link.

FAQ

What is the minimum order for OEM/ODM?
It depends on how far the design deviates from a standard platform. A branding and packaging change needs far less volume than a new enclosure or a new control board. Send your target quantity with the specification and we will confirm what is realistic.
Can you produce under our brand only?
Yes. Private-label production is standard — your logo, model naming, enclosure colour and packaging artwork, with no HighIdea branding on the unit or the carton unless you want it.
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes. We can sign your NDA before any drawings or specifications are exchanged.
Who owns the tooling if we pay for it?
Tooling paid for by the buyer is the buyer's property. This is confirmed in writing in the project quotation.
Can you match a competitor's specification?
Usually yes. Send the datasheet and we will tell you which platform we would build it on, what has to change and what the honest gaps are.
