HD Lead-Acid Replacement Battery

Standard case sizes, bolt terminals and a third of the weight — built for the moment a lead-acid block dies, not for a new-build specification.

Replacement demand is where most lithium volume actually sits, and it is a different engineering problem from new-build storage: the case has to fit an existing box, the terminals have to match existing lugs, and the charger is whatever the customer already owns.

The HD series is built around those constraints. The 12.8 V 100 Ah block weighs 10 kg against roughly 30 kg for the AGM it replaces, which is the difference between one person lifting it into a boat locker and two.

The limitation to be honest about is charging. A lead-acid charger will not fill a lithium block; it will hold it at 80–85 % and an equalisation cycle may trip the BMS. Where the charger cannot be reprogrammed, the block still works, but the usable capacity in the quotation should reflect it.

Will it fit my battery box?
The 12.8 V 100 Ah block is 331 × 171 × 218 mm and 10 kg — close to a group 31 AGM. Check terminal height as well as footprint before ordering.
Do I need a new charger?
You need a lithium-compatible profile. Many modern chargers have one; older float chargers do not and will undercharge the block.
Can blocks be connected in series?
Yes, up to four 12.8 V blocks in series for 48 V, provided they are the same capacity and age, and the BMS supports series connection — confirm when ordering.
