INW Grid-Interactive Inverter

The same hybrid platform with an IP54 enclosure and a grid-export certificate — for sites that sell surplus rather than curtail it.

Exporting to the grid turns an inverter into a grid-connected device, and that brings a set of requirements that have nothing to do with solar: grid codes, anti-islanding, power factor, export limits.

The INW handles those in firmware, with the country code selected at commissioning. It also adds IP54, which matters because most residential arrays are on a roof and most plant rooms are full.

For sites with a generator, the INW is usually specified as a generator-hybrid: the generator charges the battery at its efficient point and then stops, rather than running all day at low load. That single change is often the largest fuel saving available on a remote site.

INW Grid-Interactive Inverter — frequently asked questions

Is it certified for my country's grid code?
Country codes are loaded at commissioning; tell us the destination market when ordering and we will confirm the available list.
Can it be installed outdoors?
IP54 covers rain and dust on a sheltered wall. Avoid direct sun — derating starts around 45 °C ambient.
What happens during a grid outage?
It transfers to battery in under 10 ms on the backup output, provided a battery is connected and the backup circuit is wired.
