BC-30 pre-wired 30 kWh battery cabinet

Six rack modules, busbars made off, DC breaker fitted and one communication interface — so the cabinet arrives ready to connect rather than as a set of parts to assemble on site.

The cost of building a cabinet yourself

On a first project, the engineering time to design a busbar arrangement, select and coordinate a DC breaker, and work out the thermal behaviour of a loaded cabinet usually exceeds the price difference between a pre-wired unit and loose modules.

A cabinet also carries the risk: a busbar torqued to the wrong value, a breaker selected on the wrong curve, or insufficient spacing between modules is not obvious until something fails. We build and test those details on every unit.

Field expansion

The busbar and breaker are sized for the maximum sixteen-module configuration regardless of how many modules ship. That means a 20 kWh cabinet installed today can become an 80 kWh cabinet later by adding modules, with no work on the busbar and no change to the protection.

For sites where growth is expected, specify the largest configuration you might reach — the incremental cost at order time is small compared with a cabinet rebuild later.

Key Features

  • 30.7 kWh from six 5.12 kWh rack modules
  • Internal busbars pre-made and torqued, DC breaker fitted
  • BMS aggregation to a single CAN or RS485 interface
  • 200 A DC breaker and protection as standard
  • Front access for module replacement without moving the cabinet
  • Expandable to sixteen modules on the same cabinet
  • IEC 62619 test report available

Applications

Commercial DC storage

Connects to a customer-supplied inverter or PCS, providing the stored energy without a bespoke cabinet build.

Telecom and industrial sites

Replaces multiple lead-acid strings with one pre-wired cabinet and a single monitoring interface.

Integrator starting point

A reference cabinet for integrators who want to move quickly on a first project before designing their own enclosure.

FAQ

Can I connect my own inverter?
Yes, if the inverter supports a 48 V lithium battery with a compatible CAN or RS485 protocol. Tell us the make and model and we will load the matching protocol at the factory. If the inverter has no lithium support, a different architecture is needed.
Is the cabinet expandable in the field?
Yes, up to sixteen modules. The busbar is sized for the full configuration and the breaker is rated accordingly, so a later expansion is a module addition and a BMS address change rather than a rebuild.
Who does the AC-side installation?
A licensed electrical contractor. Our scope is the DC cabinet and the communication interface; the AC connection, protection coordination and the commissioning of the site are carried out locally. We supply the documentation the contractor needs.
Why buy a cabinet rather than build one?
Because on a first project the design and build time usually costs more than the cabinet, and a pre-wired unit removes the busbar and protection risks. Integrators typically build their own once the product is established and the volumes justify it.
