RM-15 19-inch rack module (14.34 kWh)

14.34 kWh in 4U with a 200 A BMS — for integrators who need maximum energy per rack unit and can handle the mass with proper lifting equipment.

Energy density against handling weight

There is a direct trade between the two. Packing 14.34 kWh into 4U reduces rack units, connections and internal wiring, and it raises the module mass to the point where installation requires lifting equipment rather than people.

Neither choice is wrong. Where the installation is a one-off and access is good, the high-density module is simpler and cheaper to wire. Where a replacement may have to be done years later by local staff with no lifting gear, the smaller modules usually win on total cost of ownership.

Rack compatibility is not assumed

A loaded 4U battery module is much heavier than the IT equipment most 19-inch racks were designed to hold. Standard adjustable rails are frequently not rated for it, and shelf-mounted installation is unsuitable.

Send us the rack specification before ordering. In most cases the answer is a specific rail set or a fixed shelf, and it is better to establish that at design stage than to discover it on site with the module already delivered.

Applications

High-density commercial cabinet

Fewer modules for the same capacity, which reduces the number of connections and the cabinet's internal wiring.

Telecom site with limited rack space

Fits a large capacity into an existing rack where adding modules would exceed the available units.

Integrator reference design

For systems where cabinet volume is a constraint and mechanical lifting is available at installation.

FAQ

Why choose this over two RM-5 modules?
Rack units and connections. One 4U module replaces roughly three 3U modules for the same energy, so the cabinet needs fewer units, fewer busbar connections and less internal wiring. The trade-off is mass — 118 kg per module needs lifting equipment, where a 46 kg module can be handled by two people.
Do rack rails need to be reinforced?
Yes, and the mounting must be specified for the mass. A loaded 4U rack battery is far heavier than typical IT equipment, and standard IT rack rails are not rated for it. Tell us the rack make and model and we will advise on the mounting arrangement.
Is the BMS the same as the lower-capacity modules?
The same platform and the same register map, with different current and capacity parameters. That means an EMS integration written for one module works across the range, which is usually the deciding factor for an integrator.
