HE-15 three-module 15.36 kWh home battery

The top of the residential range — enough stored energy for a household with a heat pump, an EV and a backup requirement, without pushing the modules into deep daily cycling.

Where the residential range stops

The three-module stack is the sensible limit of a low-voltage residential system. Beyond about 30 kWh, the cable, the current and the number of parallel strings start to favour a rack or cabinet platform with a different physical arrangement.

If your requirement is already past 20 kWh, it is worth talking to us before specifying residential modules, because a 48 V rack platform may be cheaper per kilowatt-hour and easier to expand later.

A note on depth of discharge, again

A larger battery is not automatically a longer-lived one, but sizing so the daily cycle stays shallow is the single most effective way to reach the warranty period. The three-module stack exists for the household where two modules would be discharged to empty every night — not simply for a household that wants the biggest number on the invoice.

Applications

Heat pump and EV household

Covers an evening and overnight load of 12–18 kWh, keeping daily depth of discharge within the design window.

Whole-home backup

With a hybrid inverter, runs the full household — including the heat pump — through a multi-hour grid outage.

Tariff optimisation at scale

Where a time-of-use tariff makes it economic to shift a large daily consumption from peak to off-peak.

FAQ

Fifteen kilowatt-hours is a lot — how do I know I need it?
It comes down to consumption after sunset. Take your daily consumption from the meter and estimate how much of it happens after the sun goes down. If that figure is 12 kWh or more, a three-module stack is a reasonable starting point; if it is under 8 kWh, two modules will cycle less deeply and last longer for the same money.
What if I later want more capacity?
Add modules up to six, giving 30.7 kWh. Nothing installed has to be removed — the new module is added to the stack and addressed by the BMS. Plan the wall space and the cable route at first installation to avoid a second visit later.
Does the stack need ventilation?
It needs space and airflow, but not mechanical ventilation. Leave the clearance given in the installation manual around the sides and top. Do not enclose it in a sealed cabinet — the modules reject heat during charge and discharge and a confined space will shorten their life.
