LP12-100 12 V 100 Ah LiFePO4 battery pack

A drop-in replacement for a 100 Ah lead-acid battery that delivers roughly 90 Ah of usable energy instead of 50, at about one third of the weight.

What you actually gain over lead-acid

A 100 Ah lead-acid battery is normally specified at 50 % depth of discharge to reach its rated cycle life, so it delivers around 50 Ah. This pack is designed for 90 % depth of discharge and delivers around 90 Ah — nearly double the usable energy from the same nominal rating.

Weight follows the same logic. Around 13 kg replaces 30–31 kg of lead-acid, which matters in a campervan, a boat or anything with a payload limit.

Sizing check before you order

Three things decide whether this pack suits the application:

  • Inverter size. 100 A at 12.8 V is 1,280 W. A 1,000 W inverter is comfortably within the continuous rating. A 2,000 W inverter needs the 200 A peak continuously, which this pack does not provide — step up to the LP12-200 or specify a higher-current BMS.
  • Charger profile. Confirm 14.2–14.6 V absorption is available, with no equalisation stage.
  • Charging temperature. Below 0 °C, order the low-temperature protected variant.

Key Features

  • 12.8 V nominal, 100 Ah rated, approximately 90 Ah usable at 90 % depth of discharge
  • 1,280 Wh rated energy, 1,152 Wh usable
  • 100 A continuous BMS with 200 A peak for 10 seconds
  • LiFePO4 chemistry with a 3,000–6,000 cycle rating at 80 % depth of discharge
  • Around 13 kg — roughly one third of the equivalent lead-acid capacity
  • Four times the cycle life of lead-acid at the depth of discharge actually used
  • Bluetooth monitoring app, optional RS485 for BMS data
  • UN38.3 test report and MSDS issued with every shipment

Applications

RV and camper conversion

Replaces a 100 Ah lead-acid leisure battery with nearly double the usable capacity in the same footprint, and removes the requirement to avoid discharging below half.

Marine house bank

Suitable where the house bank is not charged below 0 °C, or with the low-temperature protected variant.

Off-grid and solar cabinet

Pairs with a 14.2–14.6 V MPPT charge profile; deep daily cycling is within the design duty.

FAQ

Can I charge it with my existing lead-acid charger?
Only if the charger can be set to a LiFePO4 profile at 14.2–14.6 V absorption with no equalisation or desulfation stage and no temperature compensation. Most modern multi-stage chargers can; older fixed-voltage chargers and any unit with a desulfation pulse cannot, and will shorten the pack's life.
Is it a true drop-in replacement?
Physically, yes in the common group sizes. Electrically, it depends on two things — the charge profile and whether any of your equipment needs a charging source connected while the battery is disconnected. Check the charger setting before installing.
Can I charge it below 0 °C?
No. Charging LiFePO4 below 0 °C causes permanent lithium plating. If your application needs to charge in freezing conditions, order the LP12-100H, which cuts charging below 0 °C and still allows discharge.
Can I connect four in series for 48 V?
Up to four can be connected in series to give 51.2 V, provided you use the series-capable variant and an external balancer is fitted. For a 48 V system generally, the LP48-100 purpose-built pack is the better choice because it has one BMS managing the whole string.
