FAQ: Telecom Base Station Inverter Selection
Last updated 2026-08-25
Telecom base stations run on -48VDC power — the global standard. While network gear uses DC directly, AC-powered equipment (air conditioners, microwave backhaul, tower-mounted amplifiers, maintenance tools) needs a dedicated telecom Inverter. High Idea Power E Series and H Series provide purpose-built 48VDC-to-220VAC conversion with telecom-grade reliability.
| Model | Power | DC Input | Form Factor | Battery |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| E1K-36 | 1000VA/800W | 36V (10AH built-in) | 1U rack | Built-in LiFePO4 |
| E1KS-48 | 1000VA/800W | 48V (40–60VDC) | 2U rack | External LD48 |
| E2KS-48 | 2000VA/1600W | 48V (40–60VDC) | 2U rack | External LD48 |
| E3KS-48 | 3000VA/2400W | 48V (40–60VDC) | 2U rack | External LD48 |
| H1K-48 | 1000VA/800W | 36–60VDC | 2U rack | External |
| H3K-48 | 3000VA/2400W | 36–60VDC | 2U rack | External |
All E Series: online double-conversion, zero transfer (AC-DC: 0ms, Inverter-Bypass: <4ms), output THD <3%, RS232 + intelligent slot. E1K-36 includes integrated 36V10AH Lithium Battery UPS module.
1. LD48 Series battery packs?
| Model | Capacity | Dimensions (mm) | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| LD4810 | 48V 10AH | 432×88×310 | 10kg |
| LD4820 | 48V 20AH | 432×88×310 | 16kg |
| LD4830 | 48V 30AH | 432×88×440 | 22kg |
| LD4830PRO | 48V 30AH | 432×88×600 | 24kg |
| LD4850 | 48V 50AH | 432×88×440 | 28kg |
| LD4850PRO | 48V 50AH | 432×88×600 | 30kg |
Built-in BMS: deep discharge cutoff at 40VDC, overcharge limit 57VDC, cell balancing, short-circuit & reverse polarity protection, temperature-compensated charging. Multiple packs parallel for extended runtime. E3KS-48 + LD4850 ≈ 30 min at 2000W.
2. Deployment scenarios?
Macro base stations: H3K-48 + LD4850PRO, outdoor cabinet. Micro cells: E1K-36 self-contained 1U, 9kg, single-person install. Indoor DAS: E1KS-48/E2KS-48 + LD4820, front-access maintenance. Tower sharing: HM Series N+1 parallel (HM3K–HM15K, 48VDC) multi-tenant from shared battery plant.
3. Environmental ratings for outdoor cabinets?
E Series: -10°C to +40°C. H Series: -10°C to +40°C. RT-4860 rectifier: -40°C to +65°C. HM Series: -33°C to +40°C (Arctic/high-altitude). LD48 LiFePO4 tolerates wider temperatures than VRLA. Humidity 10–90% (HM), 20–90% (E).
4. Hybrid energy integration (solar + grid + battery)?
Solar MPPT → 48VDC bus. RT-4860 rectifier (54Vdc, 90–280VAC input, ≥91% efficient, ripple ≤2mV) supplements from grid. LD48 battery stores excess solar. E/H Inverter converts 48VDC to 220VAC. Programmable priority: solar → battery → grid → generator, minimizing diesel consumption at off-grid sites.
5. Remote monitoring?
SNMP card (Ethernet, v1/v2c/v3), MODBUS RTU (RS485 to RTU), dry contacts (AC Fail, Battery Low, Fault, Overload), CloudUPS platform (web dashboard, SMS/email alarms, multi-site fleet management). NOC monitors hundreds of sites from a single console.
