Bypass cabinets, battery monitoring, SNMP cards, PDUs, battery cabinets, and environmental sensors — the right accessories transform a standalone UPS into a complete power protection system. This guide covers High Idea Power’s accessory portfolio and selection criteria.
1. Bypass cabinet options?
Internal static bypass: built into all C/N/ET/HT series — automatic 0ms transfer on fault/overload. External maintenance bypass: DX/ET 10–40K/HTT — manual make-before-break switch, wall-mounted. MODBUS-managed bypass: HTT/ET with cloud card — remote-controlled via RS-485 for SCADA/DCIM. For mission-critical loads, external maintenance bypass is essential for zero-downtime servicing.
2. Battery monitoring options?
Battery Inspection Module (BIM): internal resistance measurement (2V/6V/12V types), up to 4 temp probes per string, RS-485 output. Detects aging cells before string imbalance. Works with NP Series lead-acid and LD Series lithium packs. Strongly recommended for HTT with 32+ cell strings — early detection prevents unplanned outages.
3. SNMP vs RS-485 vs dry-contact cards?
SNMP Card: Ethernet LAN, SNMP v1/v2c/v3, web browser, email/SMS alerts, NMS compatible (Nagios/Zabbix/SolarWinds). RS-485/MODBUS Card: SCADA/PLC, 2400–115200 baud, daisy-chain 32 devices. AS400 Dry Contact Card: 4–6 relay outputs (battery low, bypass active, fault, shutdown), hardwired to BMS — no software needed.
4. PDU and power distribution?
Standard PDU: ≤250V/10A/≤2500W, aluminum alloy, phosphor-bronze contacts, built-in surge protection, 8–12× IEC C13 or national sockets. 19-inch horizontal or zero-U vertical. Environment –15°C to +45°C indoor only. Total load must not exceed 80% of rated power.

Galvanized steel, electrostatic powder coating, modular stackable, front-access trays. Match cabinet to UPS battery voltage — C10KS needing 192VDC (16×12V) uses C16 for full 100Ah string.
6. Environmental sensors and SPD?
Temperature/humidity sensor: SNMP/cloud card auxiliary port, triggers alarms + notifications. Surge Protective Device (SPD): Type 1+2 (10/350μs + 8/20μs) for direct lightning zones — recommended for railway, outdoor telecom, and port installations.
7. Input/output isolation transformers?
Isolation transformers for: harmonics/DC offset utility, grounding scheme mismatch, separately derived neutral (medical/lab), voltage conversion. GD/GX Series include built-in output isolation. External option for C/N/ET/DX Series — VA rating ≥ UPS rating + 20% margin.
8. Accessory compatibility?
Battery packs voltage-matched: B7032 (36VDC/1kVA), B7061 (72VDC/2kVA), B7081 (96VDC/3kVA). Battery cabinets voltage-independent. SNMP/RS-485/AS400 cards: standard intelligent slot, all C/N/ET/DX post-2019. Cloud monitoring card: ET factory-installed; C/N retrofit with firmware update. LD lithium packs: ET Lithium Battery UPS only. Verify pre-2018 legacy compatibility with High Idea Power support.
