Category
Switching Power Supplies & Rectifiers

The RT2430-1U is a 24V rectifier switching power system in a 1U 19-inch frame. It supplies clean, stable DC to important loads with effective battery management, strong tolerance of grid fluctuation and lightning or surge exposure, and multiple protection functions.

Design notes

The wide 90-280Vac input accepts a nominal 220Vac feed at 45-63Hz, with an input power factor of at least 0.98 and efficiency of at least 91%. Output is adjustable from 21 to 29VDC (27VDC nominal) with regulation inside +/-1%. A monitoring module controls the rectifier and distribution units; when mains fails the battery takes over, a low-voltage alarm is raised at 23VDC and the load is disconnected at 21.5VDC by default. All setpoints can be reconfigured from the host software, and the system returns to normal automatically when mains is restored.

Configuration

Choose the E2430 30A module or the two-module RT2430R 60A configuration, state the battery capacity and chemistry, the number of distribution circuits and the monitoring interface. The standard build provides one battery circuit and one load circuit. For a 48V plant see the RT4860; for a simple 2U module see the RP 2U AC-DC.

  • Regulation within +/-1% for sensitive DC loads
  • Monitoring module with battery low alarm and load disconnect
  • Strong surge and lightning withstand with comprehensive load protection

Applications

24V telecom plant

Access and transmission equipment fed from a regulated 24VDC bus.

Industrial DC control

Control and instrumentation circuits needing tight regulation and surge withstand.

Remote cabinets

Sites with wide mains fluctuation and no air conditioning.

FAQ

Why choose a 24V system instead of 48V?
Some railway, industrial control and legacy telecom equipment is built around a 24VDC bus. The RT2430 platform is adjustable from 21 to 29VDC so it can be matched to the existing plant.
How wide is the AC input?
90-280Vac at 45-63Hz, with a power factor of at least 0.98, so the system stays online through large mains swings.
How is the battery protected?
The battery string floats in parallel with the rectifier output. The controller raises a low-voltage alarm at 23VDC and disconnects the load at 21.5VDC by default; both values can be changed from the host software.
